Pet Friendly Trucking Jobs: The HHS Rider and Pet Policy

You can bring one pet and one rider in any position.

Yes, we allow pets

You can bring one dog or cat. We don't have a weight limit or a breed list. The pet has to behave and stay out of your way while you're driving. If you've got two, ask management.

Your truck is assigned to you, so your pet's setup stays in the cab while you're home. Nobody else drives it.

Before the first trip you sign the pet policy and put down a $350 deposit. You get all of it back when you turn the truck in clean and undamaged. There aren't any other pet fees. You're responsible for cleaning up after your pet and keeping the cab clean and odor-free. Aggressive pets and pets that bark constantly aren't allowed.

Your pet stays in the truck at the terminal, our offices and customer sites unless you're told otherwise. Every truck has an APU, so the cab stays heated or cooled while your pet waits, plus an inverter and a fridge. Service animals are handled separately, so ask your recruiter.

You can bring one rider after orientation. You'll sign a rider agreement before the first trip, and your recruiter will go over it with you. Regional drivers are home weekly and OTR drivers are home every two to three weeks.
