What types of loads will I be transporting? 

  • Flatbed/Stepdeck drivers haul industrial materials and manufactured goods, such as construction materials, transformers, fiber reels, and vehicles 

  • Heavy Haul Drivers haul large infrastructure for data centers and substations such as control buildings, transformers, switchgears 

What are the primary responsibilities for this role? 

Responsibilities include securing cargo using straps, chains/binders, tarping loads, and ensuring safe and timely delivery 

What are the trucks equipped with? 

  • Peterbilt 579s with auto or 13 speed 

  • Peterbilt 567s with 18 speed 

  • Western Star 49X with auto 

What are the trucks equipped with? 

Trucks come with comfort features (APU, Inverter, Fridge) and necessary equipment such as CB Radio, GPS, and Height Poles 

How often are safety checks and vehicle maintenance performed? 

Trucks and trailers are maintained at our terminal in Spartanburg, SC at healthy intervals to prevent break downs on the road.  

What is the typical work schedule for flatbed drivers? 

  • Regional: Home weekly. Leave out Sunday afternoon or Monday morning and come back Thursday/Friday  

  • OTR: Home every 2-3 weeks 

Are there specific physical requirements for this job? 

Open Deck positions require drivers to lift chains, ramps, and tarps (can weigh 120 lbs!) 

What is the average compensation for flatbed drivers? 

  • can vary based on experience, position, and the type of loads being transported.  
    - Regional: $1700-1800 / week Salaries 
    - OTR: $2000-2100 / week Salaries

Are there opportunities for career advancement within the company? 

All drivers join the flatbed/stepdeck division upon finishing training. After showing a satisfactory work record, they can move on to join the Heavy Haul Division 

What additional endorsements would be beneficial for this role? 

  • Endorsements such as hazardous materials (HazMat), tank vehicles, and double/triple trailers are a plus 

  • TWIC card
